Crossing the Heart of Hardangervidda
7 Days | 100 km | Wilderness Packrafting Expedition | July 2026
A true journey across one of Norway’s wildest and most beautiful river systems.
The Kvennaelva Expedition is a week-long self-supported crossing of the Hardangervidda plateau — a remote, elemental landscape where mountains, rivers, and sky stretch endlessly in every direction.
From the high valleys near Røldal to the quiet waters of Mogen, we’ll paddle through an unspoiled network of lakes and rivers, carrying everything we need in our packrafts. Expect long days on the water, portages, shifting weather, and moments of pure silence — the kind only found deep in the wilderness.
Each night we camp beside the river, share stories by the fire, and feel time slow to its natural rhythm. This is not a “tour.” It’s a small expedition — a return to simplicity, presence, and skill.
What to Expect:
- 7 days / 6 nights of wilderness travel across the Hardangervidda plateau
- 100+ km of combined paddling and hiking through alpine rivers, lakes, and valleys
- True self-sufficiency — you’ll carry all food and equipment for the entire journey
- Small group — maximum 8 participants for a close, personal experience
- Mixed terrain: calm lakes, whitewater sections (Class I–III), marsh crossings, and alpine hiking
Led personally by Seon Crockford-Laserer, Packraft Europe founder and certified Rescue 3 / IRF instructor

Why Kvennaelva?
The Kvenna River is legendary among Scandinavian paddlers — remote, demanding, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Long portages, shifting weather, and the solitude of the high plateau make it one of the purest wilderness expeditions in Europe.
For years, this route was accessible only to elite adventurers with canoes or horses. Now, with modern packrafts, it’s possible to move light and free — to experience Hardangervidda as few ever do.
Join us for the Kvennaelva Expedition 2026 — the premier packrafting expedition in Norway.
