Once again Alpacka Raft redefines the sport of packrafting!
It is time to forget everything you know, or think you knew about what a packraft is capable of.
The Valkyrie is the kayaker's packraft—the pinnacle of whitewater performance in an inflatable package. It features modern creekboat style and rocker with a patented planing hull for secondary stability and edge control. The V3 is the lowest volume and most responsive whitewater boat we've ever made. It’s easier to do everything: boof, roll, eddy, ferry, and all with style.
The hype is real. The Valkryie V3 is not just Alpacka's highest performance whitewater packraft, its the biggest leap in performance that Alpacka Raft has ever made and may ever make. It features Alpacka's lowest profile tubes, modern creek boat shaping, generous bow and stern rocker, and a spacious and comfortable cockpit. The patented floor sits below the bottom of the tubes to create secondary stability when the boat is put on edge. Like a kayak, this allows the paddler to hold the Valkyrie on edge for crossing eddylines, boofing off drops, and cutting through features. The bow and stern rocker keep the boat high and dry and make it incredibly easy to boof over and skip out of holes and steep drops. And the speed is, well, you have to paddle it to believe it.
If you are a kayaker who is packraft curious or tired of lugging nine feet of plastic on your shoulder into the backcountry, the Valkyrie V3 is your packraft. It is also a great boat for the experienced packrafter looking to step up their whitewater game or anyone who wants to develop kayak skills in a forgiving and easy to store and travel package.
Note: High pressure is key on the Valkyrie V3. Topping it off with the Pack-A-Pump will be imperative for performance. (see the "in detail" video above for specific instructions on topping off the Valkyrie V3)

BEST USE and COMPARISON
WHITEWATER (Class III-V)
The perfect packraft for intermediate to advanced paddlers who plan to paddle Class III-V water. It's perfect for the kayaker who is tired of lugging their plastic kayak into the backcountry, and also a great packraft for those looking to step up their whitewater game or develop kayak skills in an inflatable package.
VALKYRIE VS MAGE.
The Valkyrie is the highest performance in whitewater especially Class IV/V and our recommendation for kayakers or expert packrafters. However, it has limitations in cargo capacity for longer self support trips. The Mage is lighter, more packable, has greater cargo capacity, and is offered in a self bailer. The Mage is our recommendation for maximum whitewater performance and versatility for the intermediate and advanced packrafters. The Valkyrie is our recommendation for those that want the performance of a kayak but need the space of an inflatable.

BUILD CONFIGURATIONS
WHITEWATER DECK:
The Valkyrie comes standard with the Whitewater Deck, which provides the highest performance in whitewater. The deck keeps the boat dry so it can maintain speed through features. The Whitewater Deck features a large kayak style cockpit and includes a one-piece PEX skirt rim. Spray skirts sold separately.
CARGO FLY ZIPPER:
A standard option on the Valkyrie, the Cargo Fly is the ultimate packraft gear storage solution. It features an airtight zipper installed in the stern of the boat to allow you to load your gear inside the tubes. The system provides drier and more secure gear storage and improved paddling performance due to a lower center of gravity. The Cargo Fly is perfect for expeditions, whitewater performance, and keeping your gear dry in any conditions.
Small Internal Dry Bags may be purchased separately and are designed to work with the Cargo Fly system. The bags clip in place along each side of the tubes with a side release buckle and allow for better organization and weight balance than placing the contents of your pack loose inside the Cargo Fly. They also act as additional balanced air chambers to make it easier to get to shore in the event of a puncture.

*The Valkyrie is designed for a true to size fit with enough knee bend to engage the thigh straps, but keep your legs more extended for better downriver performance. Paddlers over 6'3" | 190cm or under 5'4" | 162cm may have trouble getting a good fit. Similarly, paddlers over 220lbs | 100Kgs may find that the overall volume of the boat is too low to carry multi-day gear. The large size is optimized for a 6'0" 183cm paddler and the medium is optimized for a 5'8" | 172cm paddler. Paddlers in the 5'9"-5'10" | 175-178cm range should be able to size up or down depending on whether they prefer a tighter/looser fit or a shorter/longer boat.
*Due to the handmade nature of our packrafts and natural variances in weights between different colors and production runs in our fabrics, all weights and dimensions are averages and will vary from boat to boat. Weight includes the seating and rigging, but not the inflation bag, stuff sack, and repair kit.
WEIGHT CAPACITY:
The Valkyrie is designed for performance at the expense of cargo capacity. The Valkyrie is ideal for paddlers up to 220lbs | 100Kgs. Larger paddlers should consider the Mage or Gnarwhal. Cargo weight recommendations are 20-30lbs | 9-13Kgs for maximum whitewater performance and a maximum of 50lbs | 22Kgs for moderate whitewater. Consider the Mage for extra capacity.
Note: Topping off the Valkyrie V3 with the Pack-A-Pump will be imperative for performance. (see the "in detail" video above for specific instructions on topping off the Valkyrie V3)
