Alpacka's lightest multi-purpose all round adventure packraft, the Caribou is perfect for all of your adventures on flatwater and lightwater (Whitewater up to class II). Its comfortable, stable and easy to carry awkward loads like bikes and packs or take your dogs, partner or kids paddling.

Alpacka Raft's Caribou model stands out as a versatile and high-performance packraft, perfect for both all-around use and bike rafting. This lightweight packraft, featuring late-rise rocker technology and custom tie-downs, is specifically designed for carrying heavy loads on the bow. Whether you're navigating rivers, exploring lakes, or embarking on bike-packing adventures, the Caribou's lightweight construction and durability make it an ideal choice. By combining the best of both worlds—ultralight efficiency and all-around capability—the Caribou ensures you can tackle any adventure with confidence and ease. The Caribou has minimal weight and packs up small and compact, easily fitting in the back of your car, on the train, in your backpack and of course on the handlebar of your bike! It is always ready for those quick adventures when you need a full sized packraft but not the weight and bulk.

BEST USE and COMPARISON

VERSATILE
Alpacka's lightest multi-purpose adventure packraft, the Caribou is perfect for all your packrafting adventures on flatwater and lightwater. Its comfortable, stable and easy to carry awkward loads like bikes and packs and is great for kids and dogs.

LIGHTWATER (up to WW class II)
The Caribou is ideal for lightwater adventures. The perfect combination of minimum pack weight and a stable comfortable ride on the water. We recommend 210d standard fabric in Self-Bailing for lightwater focused trips.

FLATWATER
The Caribou is Alpacka's most popular flatwater model. Its comfortable for long days on the water and lightweight so its easy to carry in your pack. It also has great stability and maneuverability if you want to venture into lightwater trips.

HUNTING
The Caribou is for the hard core dedicated hunter that needs the absolute minimum of weight and bulk to hike deep into the backcountry to the most inaccessible locations. A mid-sized game animal plus you and all of your gear will be a tight fit, but you won't be complaining when you are floating instead of carrying everything on your back.

CARIBOU VS EXPEDITION
Both the Caribou and Expedition are outstanding versatile packrafts. The Caribou is more focused on flatwater, bike rafting, and minimizing weight and bulk for backpacking. The Expedition is more focused on lightwater and whitewater performance.

CARIBOU VS MULE
The Mule and Caribou are like big and little siblings. Both have very similar layouts and intended uses focusing on versatile trips on flatwater and lightwater. The Caribou is smaller, lighter and more backpacking friendly. The Mule is larger and preferred for larger and taller paddlers as well as heavier duty trips like hunting and carrying loads of gear. The Mule is also available with a Removable Spray Deck.

BUILD CONFIGURATIONS

OPEN:
The Open configuration is the simplest, lightest, and most economical build configuration. It’s perfect for anything where you don't need the extra performance of a self bailer.

SELF BAILER:
The Self Bailer configuration is ideal for anyone that prefers a self-bailing style setup. The advantages of a self bailing set up are any water that enters the boat (waves, splashes, entry & exit or dripping paddles) will drain away leaving the boat drier. Alpacka's self bailing design features a lightweight 3/4 length 18cm thick seat in the rear that is protected by a sleeve and a heavy-duty baffled foot brace in the front that keeps your feet up and out of the water.

CARGO FLY: The Cargo Fly is the ultimate packraft gear storage solution featuring an airtight zipper installed in the stern of the boat to allow you to load your gear inside the tubes. The system provides drier and more secure gear storage and improved paddling performance due to a lower center of gravity. The Caribou does not feature buckle attachments inside the tubes to secure internal dry bags because the Caribou is not designed for significant whitewater use. However, you can purchase internal dry bags separately and use them with the Caribou without the buckles.
